- Gala Opening event, Thursday, Aug. 20, 6-8pm in the Oregon Ballroom Sponsored by Sun Gro Horticulture and Ball Horticulture, you're invited to join exhibitors and other show guests for a light supper and refreshments. It's a great way to kick off your visit to the Farwest Show!
- Women in Horticulture networking opportunity, Friday, Aug. 21, 8-9am in the VIP lounge on the Mezzanine level above Hall B of the Oregon Convention Center. Join other women in the industry for an informal opportunity to meet and greet growers, retailers, design professionals and allied suppliers of the green industry.
- Young Professionals networking opportunity, Saturday, Aug. 22, 8-9am in the VIP lounge on the Mezzanine level above Hall B of the Oregon Convention Center. Seasoned professionals will be on hand to network and share their knowledge and wisdom with young growers, retailers, landscape professionals and others in the green industry. "Young" is loosely defined as 40 or younger.
- Many more networking opportunities abound at the Farwest Show during nursery tours (Aug. 18 and 19), on the show floor, in the Interactive Learning Center workshops and in the Manager's Circle strategy session.
Container Showcase and New Varieties Showcase.
New plants and new ways to display and sell plants are an integral part of the Farwest Show experience. The CONTAINER SHOWCASE and NEW VARIETIES SHOWCASE will inspire and challenge you to think about plants in new ways.
- New this year, the boulevards on the show floor will showcase containers filled with creatively designed displays using plants from show exhibitors.
- A professionally designed display garden showcases the newest varieties available for sale on the show floor for the coming seasons: fall 2009 and spring 2010.
Travel discounts. The Farwest Show has developed a relationship with airlines and car rental companies.
